Blogs Sunset - Nitin Sawhney at Coke Studio @ MTV Posted
July 28, 2012 @ 19:00 pm Watch the whole video and read up on the inspiration, the lyrics and the people behind this song!
Sunset is a song about rising up and standing up for oneself. It’s about keeping the faith that dusk is followed by bright, flaming dawn. It’s also about keeping one’s head above the water and never losing faith in oneself. And never hesitating to stand up for what one believes is right.
This song is loosely based on Nitin’s life in South Africa, where he went to school. The song showcases an element of alienation that one feels in a strange, new land. And the clashes that are inevitable because of power equations that form when different cultures come together.
