Because looks can be worked over and cultivated, but genuine acting talent unfortunately can’t be honed at the gym.
They may rake in the masses with their sultry looks, but here’s a list of seven Bollywood actresses whose names you’ll never, ever find when the best actor prizes are being handed out:
Modeling? She’s been at it since she touched 14 years of age. Chartbusting item numbers? Sheila has got that down pat as well. Actual acting and genuine emoting? Sorry, wrong number.
She may have been a legal resident of Bollywood for over five years now, but seeing as we have yet to see the Miss Sri Lanka 2006 actually act, perhaps including her in this list is a tad premature.
The fact that it took the former Miss Asia Pacific forever to taste Bollywood success, that too in the producer’s shoes rather than the lead actor’s, speaks a lot in itself about the state of her acting career.
Pop quiz: What’s the similarity between the real life Miss India semi-finalist Mugdha Godse and the reel life model that she played in the critically acclaimed Fashion? They both are all thumbs when it comes to holding down a career in showbiz.
She may have created waves when the first rushes of her debut film were released, but Diana has since disappeared into oblivion; her badly dubbed role in the 2012 romcom Cocktail doing little to further her longevity in the movie industry.
Given the accolades that she collected at the 2001 Miss India pageant and consequently at the Miss Universe contest, it comes as little surprise that the gorgeous model is more at home on the ramp than in front of the camera – A fact that sadly took her the better part of the past decade to realize.
