7 Cricket Celebs’ Hairstyles We Wish We Could Undo
Posted On 8th April, 2014 @ 11:52 am by MTV EDITOR

While we understand that cricketers aren’t exactly paid for their stellar fashion sense, for the sake of public safety, some players really need to leave the hair-raising dos at home.

Given that everything cricketers so instantly becomes a fad, you’d they would be more careful with what they did to do their hair. From wacky highlights to the omnipresent Mohawk, here’s a look at seven cricket celebs’ hairstyles we wish came with an undo button:

Mahendra Singh Dhoni

The Indian team captain commands a devoted fan following that runs into millions, and Dhoni loves his fans right back - As proved when he decided to debut his Halloween costume early during a match last year, as a special sneak peek for his fans. Aww, stop it, you. No, really. Please take it off and give us our old Dhoni back; you know, the one that had a full head of hair?

Ishant Sharma

We’d have said that bowler Ishant Sharma’s shaggy hairstyle needed to go and fast, but that’s always assuming that he ever had his hair styled in his entire life, or even a basic haircut, at that - Somehow those messy tresses don’t look like they’ve ever seen the inside of a barber’s shop.

Sunil Narine

While the West Indies spin star isn’t by any means the only last cricketer to have developed an alarming fondness for the Mohawk style, but in interest of the number of hours he’ll save painstakingly coiffing his hair before every match, we say it needs to go.

Lasith Malinga

Much as we love the guy, he really ought to be sued for turning this hair-raising (for lack of a better word) style into a trend. As should any salon that voluntarily lets its customers walking out looking like this.

Dale Steyn

The South African team’s failure to defend a target of 173 in the semifinals last Friday might have had people saying that a few extra hours of practice on the pitch was in order, but if you ask us, the only place the SA team needs to be spending overtime is at a decent hairstylist’s. The start of the 2014 edition of the World T20 tournament witnessed Dale Steyn debuting his new hairstyle - The bowler sacrificed his silky brown hair for this Mohawk look, as did a couple of his teammates.

Kevin Pietersen

Whether to rid him of unwanted female attention or just part of a deep-rooted strategy to throw the batsmen he was facing off course; either way, the jarring blue striped hairdo totally worked. Jessica Taylor, we never thought we’d be saying this, but he’s all yours.

Jason Gillespie

While we have no complaints from the former Australian cricketer’s performance as a bowler, our sympathies rest with the batsmen facing him who regularly had their field of vision blocked by his flying locks. Our heartfelt condolences, guys.
