Blogs Recycle Armstrong? Posted
June 28, 2012 @ 10:00 am A few days back, cycling icon, Lance Armstrong put a determined foot forward by challenging the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency Review Board on its allegation that he participated in a vast doping conspiracy during his seven Tour de France titles. We do not know
The foreign press obviously has full access to the letter because they have published certain extracts but obviously their filtering cannot be a final opinion. He however has claimed that the USADA had made false allegations in its letter that are “offensive to any notions of due process and fair play.”On the other hand he promises not to take the issue to state or federal court but hopes to remove the claims against him within USADA’s own system.
The comments to similar news articles have been pouring out ever since Lance took this brave stance and all are in favor of the star. “Give ‘em hell Lance”, says one fan. MTV too would like to congratulate Armstrong for staying raw even when dealing with a prominent board that chose to reopen a case that had already been closed by U.S. attorney’s office in Los Angeles closed its criminal investigation ,after a nearly two-year inquiry.
Do we have another conspiracy at hand? Is the legendary cyclist Lance Armstrong a doper or being duped by connivers? Is cycling a game that cannot be trusted in the least for being a pure sport of spirit and brawn? One cannot be sure but it is certain that there is no definite evidence that can prove Lance guilty. It is heartening to know that fans have not given up their support. How can one forget that feeling of jubilation when Armstrong closes in towards victory? Cycling as a sport has had its share of dopers but one allegation should not be allowed to bring the sport under the wheels of deceit. After all who can name a sport that has not been reduced by a similar allegation? In the process of separating the rotten apples from the ripe ones can the art of apple picking be plucked of its honor?
