Knight Riders or Night Riders?

After a third defeat in the Champions League T20 games, a potential egg on the face situation for the IPL champions may see the light of day. Which got us to wonder, can one ever separate sex and cricket?
The Knight Riders have always been a popular team because of their famous team owner, Shahrukh Khan; only early this year, after the team won the IPL after being at the bottom in earlier tournaments, they have begun to also be acknowledged for their expertise in the game. However, fresh news that took so long to percolate into the larger scheme of things may just open doors with regard to those occurrences that are uncalled for in the popular league tournaments.
On Wednesday, the Social Security Cell of Pune made two arrests after an operation carried out by senior inspector Bhanupratap Barge. Someone shared the information of there being a 22 year old girl involved in a sex racket and that she had also worked as a cheerleader for the IPL team Knight Riders. To track her down Barge had a foolproof plan that was carried out stealthily.
The team contacted the girl’s agent following a tip-off; Seema Jagtap, the girl’s agent, was contacted by officials and a meeting was planned with the twenty two year old sex worker at a hotel in Koregaon Park area. The meeting was agreed upon only after a confirmation from Barge, posing as the customer, for a price of 1.5 lakh rupees. Once the conditions were met, the delinquents walked right into the trap and were arrested on the spot.
Will this one case lead to other existing ones, only time can tell but as of now the Knight Riders have a lot of thinking to do, as to what went wrong in the Champions League Twenty 20 games. While Sunil Narine the West Indian who was selected by the ICC as the “Emerging Player of the Year”, did not let his team down, yet as a whole the team was not able to make a good appearance. They are out of the tournament after losing their third group match against the Perth Scorchers due to rain, but are still keen on playing the last match. While we are at it, we also wonder how many Knights knew!
