We are, often, tempted by choice; with each choice come multiple possibilities and with every possibility a new dream emerges. But ever so often the exemplary number of possibilities leads us into a pit of our own making. Imagine having two brilliant choices to one common end and then being so baffled or petrified of choosing one that the final goal seems to slip away ever so quickly! I am 19 years old and I’m in my first year of college. I really like this girl in my class and I’ve gotten to know her for the past six months. She is everything I dreamed of having in a girlfriend. Unfortunately for me, she is in a relationship with someone else. Recently, she had a fight with him and stopped talking to him for a while. During this time we got to talking a lot and became really close. I told her that I like and she said she likes me too. However, things got better between her boyfriend and her; things are now awkward between us. She still calls and messages me constantly; she is really affectionate. I don’t know how to react to this. The girl that you’re really fond of is rather confused, while she obviously harbours feelings for you; she also wants to hang on to her relationship because she thinks it’s a sure thing. People deign to make choices because they want the best of both worlds without the responsibility of either. You can do one of two things; one, you could distance yourself from this girl and find someone who is more than willing to commit to you completely or two, you can tell her what you really think of her behavior and how it is affecting your state of mind, adversely. One of two things can happen post this; one, you will find peace of mind without worrying about what is going on in the girl’s head or two, she will make a choice and you will achieve clarity.
