URBAN CUPID: Light that fire
Posted On 25th October, 2012 @ 00:00 am by MTV EDITOR

Diwali, the festival of lights, is around the corner and it is the best excuse you have to light-up your love life.

Now, obviously we aren’t going to encourage you to walk into a jewelry shop, but all you need is that one moment that the two of you can share that can last for a lifetime; and for that, dear lovers, you don’t need money but a brilliant idea. Here is what we thought about:

Rocket Singh:

Being the “Rocket Singh” of her life doesn’t get easier than this. All you have to do is buy one of those real fancy rockets that when lit, go soaring towards the sky giving you the opportunity to be an audience to the beautiful impression formed by its explosion. So, tell her you want to show her something, take her up to the terrace and put a match to the already set launcher, watch the explosion and then look back at her and say: “That’s what happened to me the first time I saw you”.

Baker’s Pride:

A best way to man’s heart is through his stomach; so, if you are mulling over what will make him fall short of words to thank you, here’s what you can do: BAKE A CAKE! It’s simple, all you need is cream cheese, butter, milk, sugar and cocoa, mix it up and chuck it into the oven. Now, hop on to Google and get the measurements.

Director’s cut:

This is, if I may say, a unisex gift, with a little bit of creativity you can make something extraordinary. Use your phone cameras, to record yourself doing something special for your lover. Probably, you can document yourself baking a cake, singing her favorite song or just narrating the best experience you had together that needs to be put on record. Then, burn it on a CD and you’ve got a piece of you that your loved one can own for eternity.

Picture Perfect:

A collage is an awesome idea, God bless whoever invented it. All you need to do is gather all those wonderful memories from your personal collection or lift it off Facebook, stick them together in an innovative way and you’ve got a collage. However, there is a catch, you have to make something that allows your loved one to relive the past; maybe, make a timeline of your relationship from then to now or remind them of a trip you made together.

Go on a Trip:

Sorry, if you’re not a miser like most of us, you always have the option of celebrating the festival of lights in some other city. There are many beautiful cities like Varanasi, Jaipur or Agra where your Diwali celebrations are automatically enhanced by the beautiful architecture and the traditional values that still linger on.
