The Social Network Star Justin Timberlake NOT A Facebook Fan
Posted on Thursday, November 11th, 2010 By Nikhil Taneja
Justin Timberlake, who people prefer to know as a solo pop singer than as the once-upon-a-time frontman of the boy band N'Sync (We wonder why they are called boy bands when they sing like girls?), is now trying to concentrate on his career (?) in Hollywood.

Timberlake has already starred in films like Southland Tales, Model Behaviour, Longshot and The Open Road, all of which no one's ever heard of, and is now one of the important cast members of David Fincher's much talked about The Social Network.
For those living under a rock, The Social Network is a movie on how Mark Zuckerberg went from being a nobody to the youngest billionaire in the world. For those who've been living under a rock for quite a few years, Mark Zuckerberg is the founder of Facebook.
He's an actor, b***h
In the movie, Timberlake plays Napster founder Sean Parker, who helps Zuckerberg, played by Zombieland actor, Jesse Eisenberg, to expand Facebook. The role's got Timberlake the acclaim of his life time, and it now looks like the singer will finally be able to add ‘I'm an actor, b***h' (refer The Social Network trailers for inside joke) on his visiting card.
But interestingly (or not), Timberlake says that he's never really been into Facebook. It's not really clear whether that statement makes him cool, considering its coming from the guy who once dated Britney Spears. "Why are people so obsessed with Facebook? I think the idea of a social network is a party, but the key is you're throwing it. That's the intrigue behind having a Facebook page. It's your world. It's your party,” he says.
Timberlake also goes on to admit that he's "three years clean of spending too much time online” and in a shocking revelation, says he's "ridiculously stupid when it comes to using computers and social networking.”
Too cool for Facebook
But the singer/actor ends on a Zen-like note and makes us believe there is more to him than the ever-changing style and colour of his hair: "The accessibility and instant gratification of having your photos out there makes it so great for busy people. ... I wonder if this creates great moments, or are we just wasting time when we could talk and see each other”
The Social Network releases in India on Friday, November 12. And if we may suggest, with the creative forces of David Fincher and Aaron Sorkin behind it, it's a movie not to be missed. Don't let Timberlake's hair deter you!
