Here is a song that is the outcome of experimentation; it takes inspiration from some of the much loved Bollywood  songs of the 60’s but is well packaged to evoke the past and tempt you to groove. Besides, Suman Shridhar’s voice is well molded into the track as she sings her heart out against the prominent strums of a guitar.

Jee Le Zaraa 

Singer: Vishal Dadlani

Think about the collective efforts of all the artists working on a song; Javed Akhtar penning down his beautiful lines, but in a realm of his own and then the lyrics fall into the hands of Vishal Dadlani who attaches his own set of feelings to the song. You know that Dadlani’s roaring vocals can bring the worst poet’s words to life; however, here he treats Javed Akhtart’s words with tenderness, making this song a treat.

Jiya Laage Na 

Singers: Sona Mohapatra & Ravindra Upadhyay

The brilliance of this song lies in the apt selection of artists because usually the singers stay adamant to a particular style, but when they are put in front of a microphone with a different kind of “musical ambience” and probably another singer with just the opposite vocal reach the outcome is usually exceptional. Similarly, in this song the duet is well blended with neo-classical ecosystem created by the musicians.

Hona Hai Kya 

Singer: Ram Sampath

“Hona Hai Kya”, as the lyrics suggest, is placed at a crucial part of the film where the story is finally laid on a platter and served to the audience. The song can be completely credited to Ram Sampath, who screams out the word “Talaash” in the chorus taking us to the very edge with the suspense.

Laakh Duniya Kahe 

Singer: Ram Sampath and Nisha Mascarenhas

While we haven’t got comfortable with this one yet, there may be something in it for you. A pure rock ballad, which doesn’t really deserve a second hearing if our opinion matters.
