Commando: From Stuntman to StuntHero!

This is not a remake of the old Commando movie that made us all aspiring bodybuilders, yet it is a film that many will be looking forward to because it is a pure action movie made by a Bollywood production.

The stunts performed by Vidyut Jamwal have been executed without the use of any cables or computer graphics, except for the dive in the valley. Please do not try this at home

While love was the topic chosen by the Hindi film industry, Tollywood has been thriving on the action genre for quite some time now. However, this film, like many others, is based on the lines of an old Bollywood film by the same name that was directed by Babbar Subhash featuring Mithun Chakraborty.

Although, the story is not the same and it gives us an idea of how the audience has changed; back in 1988, they believed that a man as lean and skinny as Mithun Chakraborty could actually be a commando. This film, however, will be a magnet for action buffs who haven’t yet gotten over Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone and need their own action hero to cradle their fantasies of being a one man army. To do this, director Dilip Ghosh has chosen Vidyut Jamal.

In the first few seconds of the trailer, one can feel the rhythm set in, after a warning from the makers that read: “The stunts performed by Vidyut Jamwal have been executed without the use of any cables or computer graphics, except for the dive in the valley. Please do not try this at home.”  Now fellows, can such a warning be taken lightly after the next two and a half minutes are nothing but a visual delight; pure stunts and unbelievable action sequences.

The cast is new; Vidyut Jamal, who you must have seen in Force alongside John Abraham, who also received the Filmfare Best Debut award, and Pooja Chopra who is from the Tamil film industry and the former Miss India. Scheduled to release in March this year; the work of Vidyut has already been showered with praise by tweeple, to which he recently replied: “Thank you so much for the unbelievably overwhelming response 2 @Commandofilm trailer. So happy u liked it! Keep d feedback coming twitverse…”
