After the incredible success of Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, the disappearance of Ameesha Patel came as a shock to us, as much as it did to you. Now, she’s back with a bang, describing her comeback as another debut.

Here is what she said: “Yes, it’s a great feeling after a long break and I'm all charged up and I feel as if I'm making my debut all over again.” She has no qualms in saying that her best work is yet to come; so, let’s hope this one seals the deal.

Shortcut Romeo is another remake of a Tamil film, made by the director and producer of the film Thiruttu Payale: Susi Ganeshan. Talks about the film did not begin recently, but earlier on it was rumoured that the film would cast Emraan Hashmi, Bipasha Basu and Deepika Padukone. In September 2011, Susi Ganeshan put these rumours to rest claiming that he had opted for Neil Nitin Mukesh and Ameesha Patel with Richa Gangopadhyay playing Mukesh's love interest. In the end Richa Gangopadhyay dropped out making way for Puja Gupta.

While the trailer makes it seem as if the entire film was shot in Mumbai’s race course, it is believed that most part of its shooting was conducted in Kenya’s Masai Mara and few neighbouring places. And, if you are keen on enhancing your Bollywood general knowledge, you might want to know that this is the one of the few Hindi feature films, other than, Tridev, to be shot in Kenya.

Nothing about the plot has been declared to the media; nonetheless, on drawing a comparison with the film Thiruttu Payale makes it easier to elucidate on the trailer. Probably, Romeo being an ambitious youngster finds the easy bait of romancing Ameesha Patel, the wife of a rich businessman, to extract money from her. On the way he falls in love with Puja Gupta, but their relationship was only a trap set up by Ameesha Patel who wants to put an end to Romeo’s blackmailing ways.
