The Little Comedian
October 30, 2012 @ 00:00 am
Any guesses, who is the little comedian of Bollywood? The kind of comedian who gives his best performance in every film, and the hilarity stays with us even if watching the entire film was a complete waste of time.
However, the case with some of the best comedians has been that they aren’t satisfied by just being the laughing stock; they also want to move the audience with their long held messages. Probably, the same is the case with funny man Rajpal Yadav.
So, what has he been up to these days; well, he is busy promoting his first directorial effort called “Ata Pata Laapta”. His choice of shifting positions from in front of the camera to behind it, shouldn’t come as a surprise because till now he has been doing everything that he could in front of the camera, whether it is television or films.
Here is what he had to say: “As an actor, there are various limitations. Certain aspects could be explored through direction only. When I decided to direct a film, I went through around 200 to 300 scripts. Out of which, 12 subjects were finalized and Aata Pata Laapta emerged as the winner. I dedicate the movie to theatre, the people and a hundred years of cinema.”
The other exciting aspect of this film is that the audience will get to see Dara Singh for the last time on-screen. Besides, the trailer is the perfect warm up to the actual thing; Rajpal Yadav presents himself in different avatars with nothing but his wittiness staying constant, along with him are the usual suspects Ashutosh Rana, Asrani, Vijay Raaz, Yashpal Sharma, Govind Namdev and Mukesh Tiwari.
While the film may not be a star-studded film, it definitely is an actor-studded film because it features 170 actors in total who are from the film and theatre fraternity. So, before you get busy with the list of other films next month, do give the little comedian a chance to surprise you.
