Let them get married!

The American-singer-songwriter, Kid Rock a staunch supporter of Mitt Romney clearly admitted his right leanings when Billboard.com caught up with him for a chat. Indeed, his hit single "Born Free" was used as the theme song for Mitt Romney'
As Kid Rock says, “I'm supporting Mitt Romney, but as much as I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman, let gay people get married if they want…That's not the f@#king issue. And I think a woman should have a right to choose if she wants to have an abortion or not--that's not up to anybody else.” Further into the conversation, he affirmed that there are more important issues that need to be solved; particularly, the Congressional gridlock.
On many occasions, we have seen him introduce the Romney campaign and perform “Born Free” before inviting the Republican on stage. Nevertheless, he does not like preaching politics on stage but considers it important for everyone to stand for something they believe in. Now that we know that Barack Obama has been re-elected, we thought Kid Rock would compose a gloomy number; but no, he’s played it safe by saying, “If people vote the other way, then I'll support our president, whoever's elected.”
On the other hand, I find it difficult to believe the Rocker when he says that he doesn’t like discoursing politics on stage. Take a good listen to the song “Born Free” and Rebel Soul; in one too many ways these songs have a little more to them than just musicality. Here’s a sample of the lyrics of “Rebel Soul”: “C’mon and grab your guns, let’s ride. And may your conscience be your guide…Tonight’s the night we fight or die”. Well, at least he’s taking a stand.
Close on the heels of Obama’s election, voters from Maryland and Maine have approved the legislation to make gay marriage legal. Here’s one step in the right direction.
