Ever heard a song and felt an inexplicable need to tell your loved one that you want to dedicate that song to them? Ever wanted the world to know what you feel, through a song? Well, we have something just for you. Read on to know more:
Let’s see what went wrong with television; you would agree that very often we switch on the television and go through our fixed list of favorite channels, but very often four out of five channels are still taking a commercial break. Thanks to the recording feature in our set top boxes, the shows we like to see get recorded. However, there is still something missing; probably, the inability to interact with the television. So, here is what we planned on doing to bridge this gap and put a smile on your face.
Instead of just sitting back and listening to a song being played on MTV, which wouldn’t be of your liking but a favorite with one of your buddies. Hence, the problem solver – MTV #Sayitwithasong. #Sayitwithasong is our way of helping you dedicate your favourite songs to your favourite people and let’s face it, who doesn’t like their thoughtful messages show up on television! What do you need to do? Just send in your dedications a day in advance and we’ll be playing your choice from 4pm onwards, the next day. Now, won’t that make your television experience a little more enjoyable?
Well, the best thing to do in such a situation is to switch on your computers or make a request directly through your phones on Twitter, Facebook and www.mtvindia.com. On Twitter, you can simply tag your dedication with @MTVIndia and #Sayitwithasong. On Facebook, just drop in your dedication as a comment under the dedication post. Besides, you can always read your dedications sail by on the tickr at the bottom of the screen; you can also read the sweet messages dedicated by other fellow Indians and admire the magnetism of music.
Here is the first list for you to choose from:
Dagabazz Naina from Dabangg 2: Sung as a Ghazal by the great Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, this song is the best teaser to dedicate to that special someone who’s waiting for a sign.
Jiya Lage Na from Talaash: A feeling synonymous with pre-exam panic; a great song to share with a couple of friends to inaugurate this festive cum exam season.
Yeh Jo Halki Halki Khumriya from Son of Sardaar: This song will awake the sardaar in you with its restless electric opus and expressive performance by Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha.
Hokah Bar from Khiladi 786: This colourful, upbeat song is the perfect number to dedicate to your pals when you’re missing the dance floor.
Lonely from Khiladi 786: We hope none of your friends are recovering from a tragic break-up, but if they are; you know what the best song to cheer them up is.
Muskaanein Jhooti Hai from Taalash: Never judge a book by its cover, but no one is really immune from that trap. Yet, prevention is better than cure. Go ahead and warn your best friend, through a song, if you think they are headed the wrong way.
Po Po from SOS: What can we say for this song? Please dedicate this one to our politicians if you agree that all they do is Po Po Po Po Po…
Jiya Re from Jab Tak Hai Jaan: Missing the adventure of gathering all your close buddies and setting out on a spontaneous trip. Probably, dedicating this number would bring your gang together again.
Challa from JTHJ: If your best friend has shifted to another city for studies, work or his parents have been transferred then this song will set the perfect mood with Shahrukh Khan strumming across the streets, lonely but open to new experiences.
Radha from Student of the Year: A controversial song for some, but for others a cute number; especially, if you have your own pink gang.
Velle from SOTY: Gather all your “vella” friends with this number. Who knows, we may be at your doorstep too.
You thought that was all?
Here are some more choices:
Fukraa from Rush
Aashiyan and Phir Le Aya Dil from Barfi
Saiyaan and Halkat Jawani from Heroine
Mashallah and Banjaara from Ek Tha Tiger
Kafirana from Joker
Hamak Challo Chel Chabeli from Rowdy Rathore
So what are you waiting for, this Diwali light up someone’s day!
