Truly, the task was not very simple this time over; don’t blame me if we aren’t in the same boat, but it is all a matter of choice.

Developed in Scandinavia, this application can make you feel like God!

You know how it is when you get together with your friends and catch hold of a mall Santa, punch him in the face and run off with his sack of gifts; then you are forced to share the gifts with your friends in such a way that everyone gets five gifts each. Similarly, putting my hand in Santa’s bag of goodies; ignoring my greedy clown, I picked the 5 Best Android Apps of 2012.

Flipboard: Expanding its user base in 2012, Flipboard entered the Android market with an app that had already begun to make Android users jealous. So, why Flipboard; this application allows lends your phone a little more intelligence, allowing you to collect all your preferred information, from news services and social sites in a magazine-style presentation. Hence, “flip” through the pages by swiping your finger to move to the next article. Oh flip! This app hasn’t been developed for tablets.

TrueCaller: Developed in Scandinavia, this application can make you feel like God. After having developed a global phone directory, the True Software Scandinavia AB now allows its users to know whose calling them through their integrated caller ID service. The name Truecaller comes from the app being able to show the True name of the Caller.

Shazam: There is music all around us; some of it we like the rest of it we ignore. On many occasions, we aren’t able to catch the details of the songs we liked, but for those occasions there is always Shazam. Shazam uses a mobile phone's built-in microphone to gather a brief sample of music being played; the sample is compared against a central database for a match. If a match is found, the information is relayed back to the user with relevant links to services such as iTunes, YouTube, Spotify or Zune.

Instagram: You must all be aware of the popular photo-sharing app Instagram, which was bought by Facebook. Now an app, it is fast, free and fun! It is the simplest way to make and share photos on your Android device. You can also pick from several gorgeous filtered effects or tilt-shift blur to breathe a new life into your mobile photos, making your own creations viral.

Viber: Initially launched for iPhone in 2010, the app got an opening into the Android market in 2012 after a fair share of controversy. The application created by Viber Media, allows you to make free calls and send free text and photo messages to other Viber users, on any device, network and country. All you need to be prepared with is a wi-fi or 3G connection.
