Engaged to one of the sexiest men on Earth, with a family of seven splendid children, we are talking about the one actress whose smile can stop traffic, literally! Angelina Jolie, turns 37 today (and somehow manages to look not a day older than 25!) and to celebrate, we take a look at her journey from a child actor in Lookin’ to Get Out (1982) to being titled the Sexiest Woman on earth, several times over!

Angelina made her Hollywood debut alongside her father Jon Voight at the age of six in the 1982 film Lookin’ To Get Out. And even though she ended acting classes as a kid, at the age of 14, Angelina dropped out and aspired to become a funeral director. However, two years later she took up acting in full earnest and after several rejections, got her first breakthrough in 1993.

In 1993, Angelina began her professional film career as the lead actress in a low-budget, sci – fi film titled Cyborg 2. It is said that Angelina was so disappointed with the film that she did not audition again for a year. After a supporting role in Without Evidence (1995), she got her first breakthrough in Hackers (1995) where she played the role of Kate "Acid Burn" Libby, a role which drew critical acclaim.

After that her career prospects began looking up and she won her first Golden Globe award for her performance in George Wallace (1997). And while she received rave reviews for her performance as the sociopathic Lisa Rowe in Girl, Interrupted (1999), her performance in Lara Croft: Tombraider (2001) cemented her position as an international diva. Angelina has since gone on to star in several blockbusters, including Salt, A Mighty Heart, Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Changeling.

Angelina has been married twice, first to John Lee Miller and then to Billy Bob Thornton. In 2005, she became a part of one of Hollywood’s biggest scandals when she was accused of the reason behind Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston’s divorce. They later admitted that she and Brad fell in love on the sets of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. The couple has been blissfully living together for the past seven years and are parents to a merry family of seven kids.
