"You, you may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one"
An unforgettable tribute, to the Delhi gangrape victim took place in the eastern hilltown of Darjeeling a few days back. 600 guitarists, came together to sing John Lennon’s “Imagine”, striving towards a more peaceful India; they all lent hope and promise to those still shaken after the brutal rape and murder of a student on a moving bus in New Delhi. Sonam Bhutia, a member from the organizing committee said, “We chose this song because it talks about hope, peace and promise.” On this day in music, back in 1981, after John Lennon’s death “Imagine” started a four-week run at No.1 on the UK singles chart, 10 years after it was recorded. Many years later, in a poll conducted in Britain, “Imagine” was voted as the song with the best lyrics of all time.
