Buzz TDIM - 'Jai Ho' was globally released as a Music single Posted
February 24, 2013 @ 01:41 am This Day In Music, marks the global release of 'Jai Ho' from Slumdog Millionaire.
Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny), the song sung by the American girl group the Pussycat Dolls from their second album, Doll Domination 2.0, was inspired from A.R. Rahman’s version from the film Slumdog Millionaire. While the lyrics did not translate directly from the Hindi lyrics and the mood of the song had been slightly altered, this version expanded the listening group that the original song had gathered. On this day in music, back in 2009, the single had a worldwide release. The song was a considerable hit, reaching top positions in Australia, Finland, Ireland, Lebanon and Turkey. It also reached the top three in Belgium, France, New Zealand and United Kingdom.
