On This Day In Music, Kings of Leon were forced to postpone their concert because two of their tour buses caught fire.
Looking for some good rock music with some catchy riffs and eclectic solos; something, beyond the nursery rhymes like Kashmir, Stairway to Heaven, Boris the Spider; till a while back was tough. Besides, pop gets numbing and hip-hop becomes more and more territorial, thus the thing about rock that is hard not to miss is its universality. Thanks to a select few bands, we rock fans haven’t become extinct like the dodos; one such special acknowledgment, must be given to the Kings of Leon.
They began approaching their own original style of music by walking along the rock and blues path; now, they’ve nurtured their talents to give something new that is still rooted in the past. Songs like "Sex on Fire", "Use Somebody", and "Notion" all the No. 1 position on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart. The album was their first ever Platinum-selling album in the United States and was also the best-selling album in Australia, being certified to Platinum status.
In this day in music, the band was forced to postpone their concert in Greenwich, after two of their tour buses caught fire. About 60 fire-fighters were at the scene and ambulance crews treated six people for smoke inhalation. Caleb, Nathan, Jared and Mathew; none of the four brothers, who form the band, were harmed.
