December 16, 2012 @ 18:33 pm On This Day In Music, in 2003, Michael Jackson was out on bail of $3m after being accused of child abuse.
The King of Pop had on two occasions been dragged into two separate cases of child abuse. While he walked out clean on both occasions, they became the cause of his drug use and emotional bankruptcy. It took him a lot of time to recover in both instances, but as Martin Luther King, Jr. puts it, “a lie cannot live” and soon he did. In the first case, back in 1993, Michael Jackson was accused by a 13-year-old boy named Jordan Chandler and his father, Dr. Evan Chandler, a dentist. Not soon after, Dr. Evan Chandler was guilty of having discussed his intentions that had been recorded, he said, “If I go through with this, I win big-time. There's no way I lose. I will get everything I want and they will be destroyed forever ... Michael's career will be over.” The case ended in an out-of-court settlement. On the second occasion that began in May 2002; Jackson was being documented for a television special called “Living With Michael Jackson”, in which a scene of Jackson discussing sleeping arrangements with a young boy, caught the attention of the criminal investigators. This day in music in the year 2003, Michael Jackson was out on police bail of $3m after being arrested for the same. It was only in 2005 that Jackson was acquitted of all charges.
