When it is an Aamir Khan film with A.R. Rahman’s music, you know you are spending your money well because it is not often that the two falter. Besides, even if Aamir falters, one can always rest assured that the music will be timeless; at least for me that was the case in Rang De Basanti. On the other hand; while the film had something in store for everyone, it gave Naresh Iyer his first opportunity to work as playback singer under A.R. Rahman.

Today, being his birthday, it is good day to remember his contribution because we can wish him the very best and thank him for bringing the lyrics of the song “Roobaroo” to life. His rendition of "Roobaroo" from the movie Rang De Basanti composed by A. R. Rahman topped the music charts for many weeks in 2006 and won him the National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer.
