Buzz TDIM - We wish U. Srinivas a very Happy Birthday Posted
February 28, 2013 @ 01:28 am On this day in music, we would like to wish the maestro a very happy birthday.
For those of you who are into world music; the name U. Shrinivas shouldn’t sound unfamiliar. The legend from South India has been the first person to bring Carnatic music on the mandolin or the firsrt person to introduce the mandolin to Carnatic music. Popular jazz artists like John McLaughlin, Michael Nyman, and Michael Brook have shared the stage with him. Yet, his most unforgettable performance, for me, was his collaboration with Shakti. On this day in music, we would like to wish the maestro a very happy birthday.
